The clouds are closing in
The trees now to me speak
My blackstar has gone to sleep
Tears rise from my eyes
Clouds swirl to the sky
Skin and bone
How long will it take
I a spider and him a snake
I’m growing tired, my spirits are getting weak
The fangs are growing stronger
Ferals to my aging
The cold is creeping up
Skin and bone
How long will it take
I a spider and him a snake
From the wind in his breath
The crease in his eye
through bones that ache
He taught me of this world
Of spiders and of snakes
Skin and bone
How long will it take
I a spider and him a snake
Spiders hides in woods and flowers
Behind eaves and blooming towers
my shoulders are hurting and tired
Wrought and broke and broken down
By the weight of all I desire
Skin and bone
How long will it take
I a spider and him a snake
Watch for snakes
behind brush and prize
on days of bright sunlight
For they know when to strike
So play my song one last time
With a beer
