Being stripped of our dignity
You were homeless once
When you had left mom
It’s not about the past
Nothing we had did last
Now I write poetry
And mourn death around me
I try to walk the streets
Constantly hoping
But my head is bowed
To the darkened river
I wish I could forget about it all
But the stain of the past remains
