9. Lost Planet
(Words & Music By Michael Wendroff)
We came upon the Lost Planet
Floating free, way out in space
It had no sun though it shone brightly
A look of fear came over the Captain's face
We had to land and we all knew it
No one had seen a thing like this before
A site was chosen and we fell towards it
We held our breath as we heard the engines roar
Thirteen years of black and endless night
Lost amidst the galaxies so bright
But sailing oh so freely through the void
I'd dreamed of that since I was just a boy
To me the stars were just so many toys
To lay and watch them brought me so much joy
The distance of the sky was what I craved
The loneliness of being far away
The ship was still-a deathly silence
Who could have dreamed what we would see outside
We screamed with joy and raised a toast to heaven
We left the ship, we had taken our last ride
Thirteen years of black and endless night
Lost amidst the galaxies so bright
But sailing oh so freely through the void
I'd dreamed of that since I was just a boy.
